Time-lapse,

Pour documenter l’élaboration du tableau, j’ai eu envie de faire un time-lapse. Un time-lapse, c’est un film constitué d’images fixes prises à intervalle régulier. Les photos sont prises automatiquement à l’aide d’un intervallomètre. L’appareil doit rester au même endroit durant tout le temps qu’il me faut pour finir mon tableau. Pour cela, j’ai fixé au mur d’en face un support pour un appareil photo. C’est du fait maison mais ça marche. Je peux enlever et remettre l’appareil et il retrouve exactement sa position… ou presque car je n’avais pas pris en compte les infimes variations de dimension du mur lui-même à cause de la température et de l’hygrométrie. Mais on fera avec. Le tableau est maintenant terminé et j’ai gardé plus de 25 000 photos à raison d’une photo toutes les deux minutes et demie. En plus du time-lapse, une équipe audio-visuelle (merci Jésus et Eddy) est venue me filmer à plusieurs moments durant ces trois ans. La séance de pose a été filmée, le tableau en cours, des interviews et le vernissage avec les modèles. Peut-être viendront-ils à New York pour l’exposition?

To document the development of the painting, I wanted to do a time lapse. A time lapse is a film made of still images taken at regular intervals. Photos are taken automatically using an intervalometer. The camera must stay in the same place for as long as I need to finish my painting. For that, I fixed on the wall opposite a support for a camera. It's homemade but it works. I can remove and put back the camera and it finds exactly its position... or almost because I had not taken the fact of the very thin variations of dimension of the wall itself because of the temperature and hygrometry. But we will do with it. The painting is now finished and I have kept more than 25,000 pictures with one picture every two and a half minutes. In addition to the time lapse, a visual audio team (thank you Jésus and Eddy) came to film me several times during these three years. The pose was filmed, the current painting, some interviews and the vernissage with the models. Maybe they will come to New York for the exhibition?
